Frequently Asked Questions
Does Brazilian waxing hurt?
Pain level is 7-8/10—most intense waxing service. Pain is sharp but brief. Most uncomfortable areas are labia and areas near sensitive tissues. First session hardest; subsequent treatments 40-50% less painful as hair becomes finer. Most clients find it very tolerable.
What is removed in a Brazilian wax?
Brazilian removes all pubic hair front to back including labia, perianal area, and buttocks. Can leave small strip or triangle in front (modified Brazilian) or remove everything (full Brazilian/Hollywood). You can customize to your preference.
How long does Brazilian wax last?
Results last 4-6 weeks. Hair grows back finer and sparser with consistent waxing. Many clients can extend to 5-6 weeks between appointments after several treatments as hair growth slows and becomes less dense.
Is it embarrassing or awkward?
Professional technicians perform dozens of Brazilians weekly—they are not fazed or judgmental. Your comfort and privacy are respected. Most clients nervous before first Brazilian report it was less awkward than expected and technician made them feel comfortable throughout.
Can I get Brazilian while pregnant?
Yes, during first and second trimester. Not recommended after 36 weeks due to increased sensitivity and positioning difficulty. Inform your technician about pregnancy. Many pregnant women continue regular Brazilians comfortably until late pregnancy. Consult physician if concerns.
What should I do to prepare?
Grow hair to 1/4 inch (2-3 weeks after shaving). Schedule mid-cycle (avoid period week). Take ibuprofen 30 minutes before if concerned about pain. Wear comfortable, loose clothing. Shower and cleanse area beforehand. Avoid caffeine day-of (increases sensitivity).
What if I get bumps or irritation after?
Mild redness and small bumps at follicles are normal for 2-6 hours. If bumps persist or worsen: apply cold compress, use fragrance-free aloe, wear loose cotton underwear, avoid friction, gently exfoliate after 48 hours. Persistent issues: consult technician or physician.
Can men get Brazilian waxing?
Yes, male Brazilian waxing (also called Manzilian or Boyzilian) is increasingly popular. Process is similar but may take slightly longer due to coarser hair. Male-specific positioning and techniques are used. Many salons offer this service—inquire about availability.
